Facebook is the fastest growing social networking website in existence among high school and college students, and as of late 2007, they finally opened their community for bands to put up musician pages. That means there are about 25 million potential new fans just waiting to hear your music.

Hey, I know what you’re thinking… “[Groan] Another social networking site to suck up my free time. I’m already busy enough.”
But hear me loud: As a serious artist, you NEED to promote to these new fans, since many Facebook users (especially college students) may never venture over Myspace to find you.

Facebook allows you to add little “applications” to your page to do things like play music and YouTube videos, leave comments, post pictures of your shows, etc. Savvy Facebook users might even add more applications by third-party companies to play trivia games online or chat live with friends.
