At long last, indie artists can sell their mp3’s on Facebook! A new free service called BlastMyMusic.com has put together an easy-to-use application to sell your tracks.
Now you, your fans, and your street team can sell your music from your Facebook profiles! If you are familiar with Facebook, follow this link to set up your MusicBlaster on your profile:

    http://apps.facebook.com/musicblaster/

Here are the instructions for fans and street teams to participate:

    1. Create a customer/fan account at www.BlastMyMusic.com
    2. Write down your Customer Affiliate ID, located in your customer account (right above your name)
    3. Follow this link http://apps.facebook.com/musicblaster/ (you will need to login to your Facebook account)
    4. Add the MusicBlaster application
    5. On the settings page, enter the Customer Affilate ID you wrote down in step 2, then use the search option to find the artist you’d like to sell music for.
    6. Your new BlastMyMusic app should show up in your Facebook profile

    Ringtones

If you’re into ringtones, you’ll be happy to know that BlastMyMusic has a ringtone service too.

If you would like one of your songs made into a ringtone, use the contact form to let them know and include the following information: Your artist or band’s name, the song you’d like to be a ringtone, where you would like the ringtone to start (i.e. 1:30) and how long you’d like it to run (maximum 35 seconds). These ringtones are promotional add-ons and instructions for accessing them will be sent to everyone who purchases your music.

SONGWRITER TOOLBOX TIP: Try using the ringtone option as a way to promote an upcoming release!

    Customer Affiliate Program

Want to make even more money for your downloads? Sign up for their Customer Affiliate Program (no charge) and earn an extra 5% for every download. Here’s how

    1. Fans create a Customer/Fan account from the newly designed front page of www.BlastMyMusic.com or by purchasing music.
    2. In the Customer/Fan account select music to sell from the BlastMyMusic catalog.
    3. Place the personalized MusicBlaster code on websites and social networks.
    4. Fans Earn 5% commission from every sale!

    How Much Will I Make?

According to their Digital Distribution Agreement, artists make 65% of every download sold. So if you sell a track for $0.99, you’ll make $0.64. If you also sign up to be an affiliate, you can make up to $0.69 per track! You’ll be paid once every 30 days.

    Legal Stuff

This is a non-exclusive agreement, so you should be just fine. SongwriterToolbox gives this a thumbs up!
